Kegiatan Saat Ini
I have been serving as a lecturer at the Faculty of Tourism, University of Pancasila, since 2015. My teaching responsibilities include courses such as Community-Based Tourism, Coastal and Marine Tourism Planning, and Ecotourism, focusing on their definitions, principles, and management aspects. I engage with communities at least once every six months and undertake research and publish scholarly articles in reputable journals on a similar schedule.
In 2021, I successfully obtained a community-based tourism management trainer certificate from the International Trade Center (ITC) SME Trade Academy. This certificate was awarded following a 30-day training program (from May 24 to June 24) conducted by ITC-SME as part of the Community-Based Tourism of Trainers (CBT-ToT) training program.
From 2021 to 2022, I was appointed by the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as a trainer for sustainable tourism and the creative economy throughout Indonesia, focusing on tourism actors in all tourist villages. I often incorporate my research, publications, and activities outside campus into my teaching, as they provide valuable real-world insights for my students. Based on my experience, I've learned that tourism in Indonesia is not only influenced by financial capital and societal goodwill but also by political elements. I am particularly interested in the political ecology of tourism.
Most recently, Since the year 2023, I have become affiliated with the NGO Fairtourism, which is located in The Hague, Netherlands, in the capacity of an external affairs coordinator. One of my responsibilities includes securing funding and establishing partnerships for the development of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in villages. At present, we are advancing CBT initiatives in Huay Phu Kheng, Thailand; the Mandalika region in NTB, Indonesia; and several villages in Kenya.
